The CCO’s Commitment to Metro DC
Approximately 450,000 students attend one of 66 colleges and universities in the Metro DC-Baltimore area. On these campuses, students make decisions about their values, vocations, and relationships that will inform and shape their lives forever.
This region is home to two major US metropolitan areas, three of the world’s top undergraduate political science programs, six historically black colleges and universities, and a significant number of international students.
With few exceptions, the 66 colleges and universities in our area have little or no campus ministry presence.
Our Goals
The CCO in Metro Washington, DC will…
- Equip and empower students to understand and live out the public implications of their personal transformation in Christ in every area of life.
- Expand a church and community-based network of partnerships where students and laypeople are integrated into meaningful relationships with one another and are equipped for lives of service and leadership for Christ.
- Develop multi-ethnic ministries that allow students to lead by word and deed. We will pioneer an area-wide series of student-led, cross-campus events focused on racial righteousness.
- Serve our partners in ways that come along side organizations and institutions which are already in relationship with students to be a quality resource to support and expand contextualized and innovative ministry models.
