The CCO’s outreach at Allegheny College was one of the first CCO ministries, dating back to the early 1970s. CCO staff member Mollie Little currently reaches out to students there. The CCO’s vision of Christ transforming college students is worked out through multiple means at Allegheny College: fellowship groups, Bible studies, book discussions, hosting speakers, mentoring relationships, retreats, service learning opportunities, and mission trips.
There are several opportunities to get connected to the Christian community at Allegheny:
Allegheny Christian Outreach (ACO) is an evangelical, interdenominational fellowship group that meets at the Ford Chapel at 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday night. With a focus on Scripture, we engage speakers and discuss topics, play games and worship together.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), another student-run fellowship, meets Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m. in Rooms 301-302 of the Campus Center.
A number of small groups and Bible studies are available each semester. Of particular interest is the Dudes’ Bible Study, which is led by the senior men on campus.
More than two dozen students head to Harmons, Jamaica each Christmas break to serve the needs of the community. Students build houses, repair homes, deliver clothes & medicine, and share the gospel.
In addition to these activities, we offer fall and winter retreats, service opportunities, and leadership development seminars. Contact Mollie Little for more information.
